Welcome to Yucatán Vacation Home Rentals & Property Management

If you're looking for a vacation rental, just scroll down to the properties' pictures. This Home page shows most of the properties we have (beach houses, condos and apartments) available for monthly rentals. A few properties are offered for shorter, holiday stays, and a few are available for year-round rental. Below, you can see a picture of each property, and a short description with the monthly rate. For more photos and information, click on the picture and go directly to the full page of details. You can also click on the property name, on the list to the left, to see this information.
Pressed for time? Just fill out the form on Contact Us, and we´ll send you our ideas and suggestions.
If you already own a home, take a look at our Property Management page, and see how we can be of help to you.
Where are our rentals? We currently have only one property in Mérida (because we're beach people), found at the top of the list. All other properties are on the Gulf coast, from Progreso east to Chicxulub Puerto and Uaymitun, with some properties further east (deluxe condos at km. 20, for example), all listed in order of monthly rate. Page down to see the map of the area, just below the properties' photos (and remember that on the map, the "right" side of the Peninsula is on the left).
If you don´t see exactly what you want, please Contact Us and let us know what you're looking for. We can't show all of our properties, and we vary the properties that we do show.
If you´re looking for accommodations for larger groups, ask us about the various multi-unit properties we represent that will please everyone. Ideal for family reunions, retreats, travelers' and birders' clubs, or friends who enjoy vacationing together.
During your stay, we are here for any questions or problems. We are available, and in touch with you, for the length of your stay. In case you´re wondering About Us, we are going into our 14th year with YVHR, and you can read more about us on that page.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Mérida (MID) is the closest international airport, but you may find that flights to Cancun (CUN) are significantly cheaper. From the Cancun airport, the bus company ADO now offers direct shuttles to Mérida, as well as regular bus service from any of the tourist destinations along the Caribbean coast. We've only seen their website in Spanish, so feel free to contact us for more information. Another option is to rent a car and drive over...it's about a 4-hour drive, but again there are some options to the route if you don't want to stay on the (good, but boring) 'cuota', or toll road, so let us know if we can be of help. Remember, the "right" side of the peninsula is on the left side of the map. info.yvhr@gmail.com

So why choose Yucatán? Perhaps most importantly, because Yucatán enjoys the reputation of being the safest state in Mexico. Also, the Yucatecos, the people of Yucatán, are famously friendly. Add to that, the fact that the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula has become heavily commercialized in recent years, so if you´re looking for some time in the "real" Mexico, the Gulf coast is for you. Here, you can still find miles of secluded, untouched beaches, or you can enjoy the coastal towns and their local restaurants where whole fried fish is on every menu. Touring colonial cities like Mérida and Izamal, or ancient Mayan cities like the ruin sites of Uxmal and Dzibilchaltun, can be done within a couple of hours´ driving time. You can go fishing in the Gulf, swimming in the fresh water cenotes, or you can just relax and swing in your hammock. The culture is diverse, as is the food, since they combine influences from the traditional Maya to the Spanish conquistadors, with a dash of Caribbean flair here and there. If you're new to vacation home rentals, you'll find that there are many advantages. For one, you can choose your style of accommodation, whether it´s condos, villas or beach houses. For another, they also offer you more choices in location...in the city, in a fishing village, or away from it all, on a quiet stretch of beach. And, they offer savings over a stay in a hotel. This is especially true for the Gulf coast of Mexico, in contrast to the high prices that are now common in Cancun and along the Caribbean side of the Yucatan Peninsula. For the real bargain hunters, there are some simple (hence cheaper) yet comfortable, lower priced options. However, if you prefer a luxury villa, you can still save money. Meals can be prepared instead of always having to pay the costs of eating out, thus allowing you to relax and enjoy all of the amenities that are available to you. If you already know people in the area, or if you make new friends, it's easy to entertain when you're staying in a vacation rental. You may decide on an oceanfront condo, or if it's privacy that you want, nothing is better than a beach house getaway. In short, a vacation home rental on the beautiful Gulf coast of Mexico can make for an unforgettable vacation, or even better, a long term stay.
